World Meteorological Organization (WMO)

  • Established pursuant to the World Meteorological Convention adopted at the 12th Conference of Directors of the International Meteorological Organization (IMO) in 1947; commenced operations as the successor to IMO in 1951; became a specialized agency of the United Nations in 1951.
