The High-level Committee on South-South Cooperation originated as a High-level Meeting to Review Technical Cooperation Among Developing Countries that was called for by A/RES/34/117 of 14 December 1979.
It was transformed into the High-Level Committee on the Review of Technical Cooperation Among Developing Countries by A/RES/35/202 of 16 December 1980.
The Committee's name was changed to High-level Committee on South-South Cooperation by A/RES/58/220 of 23 December 2003.
