Force HQ Support Units

Aim
The aim of this module is to familiarize participants with the:

  • Overview and concept of employment of UN Force Headquarters Support Units (FHQ SP)
  • Nature of FHQ SP units
  • Characteristics of FHQ SP
  • Flexibility and adaptability of tailoring the force for support
  • FHQ SP roles and responsibilities supporting UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKO)

Overview
Module 1 provides an overview of the conceptual framework related to the proper employment of FHQ SP units to support and help contribute to a successful achievement of the Mandate. It also examines the nature, characteristics of the units and their enabling support to the military component

Learning Objectives
Learners will:

  • Describe the characteristics and functions of FHQ SP units
  • Know the key concepts of FHQ SP unit employment
  • Understand the roles and functions of the FHQS SP units
  • Describe the principles of FHQ SP units support
