The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, was unanimously adopted by the United Nations Member States in 2015, in resolution A/RES/70/1 titled “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development". The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call for action and global partnership by all countries to work on local and global strategies that will address all issues pertaining to sustainable development. As stipulated in the resolution, the SDGs aim is to "stimulate action over the next fifteen years in areas of critical importance for humanity and the planet"
